So, I have been at
Harborview now for a year. Actually a couple weeks longer than a year. Strange. A little unbelievable at times. And even though, I had thought that I would start looking for something else after I had put in a year, I'm feeling that another year is doable. For a few reasons. One, it looks much better to have 2 years med-
surg experience under my belt if I end up moving on to something else. And if I can have that experience be on the floor that I currently am, it's even better. Two, starting at a new job would mean more stress. My current job is often stressful, but at least I am accustomed to it. I know where things are, I know how the unit runs, and I am comfortable with my fellow staff members. I'm not quite ready to give that up to start from square one. I am in the ultimate learning environment there, and I feel like I should use it to it's full advantage. Looking back now, the time has gone fast, and I am able to see the progress that I have made. I remember some of the other nurses telling me, during those times when I was so overwhelmed I thought I would never make it as a nurse, that it will get better. And it has, in the sense that I have more of a handle on what I am doing. I am going to try to stick it out for a while.
Last night Chris and I went to trivia night at Kate's in
Wallingford with Megan and Chad. It was really fun. Something new that neither of us has done before. I think we are officially hooked and have already decided we want to go again next week. :)
I haven't done too much knitting these last 2 days I've had off. Some more length to the purple scarf while I watched an episode of Big Love. I've also made a teeny progress on Chris's mitt. Here it is so far:

Kind of hard to tell really, from pictures, but it seems to be turning out well. Gordy likes it, of course.

Well, Chris will be getting up soon, which means it's almost bed time for me. I have 3 more shifts and then 6 days of freedom.
