A-hole

So my last shift at work, Saturday night, was surprisingly slow. I had been meant to get new admissions throughout the night that ended up never showing.

Until the last hour. Then I was lucky enough to pick up the biggest jackass of a patient. I even got spit on! No, it wasn't a blatant attempt, but he didn't try that hard NOT to spit on me either. Anyways, I won't relive the whole story, but basically he had asked (or rather demanded) for something to spit in and ended up launching a gigantic disgusting loogie (sp) right over the basin I brought, onto my gloved hand. Unfortunately, the gloves stopped at my wrist and the loogie didn't. And this was after he had been a jackass to basically everyone he had encountered at the hospital. Now, I know that people tend to get cranky when they are at the hospital and that is not a problem. I never take things personally. But this wasn't the same. He was just an asshole. Period. And there was no apology for his bad aim. Just more bitching. See, at the time we were trying to help him reposition in bed. But of course, I had to stop and wash my hands. Then he bitched because we hadn't moved him yet. When I told him I had to take a minute to wash my hands because he spit on me, he just bitched that I was accusing him of doing it on purpose.

Oh. You'll never guess what happened to the guy. Gun shot wound. What a shocker.
