Some of my knitting has been a bit unproductive. I started a pair of mittens for myself, but before I was finished with one mitt I realized that I was more than half way through the skein of yarn. It was quite sad because the mitt was looking absolutely beautiful! I thought I could possibly just turn them into fingerless mitts, but needed to go back a few rows. This is not usually an easy feat for me, unless I go backwards one stitch at a time, which I was not in the mood to do. Well, the mitt is no more. I decided to put that cursed project aside and started these yesterday...
They are from this pattern:http://subliminalrabbit.blogspot.com/2008/11/bellas-mittens.html
I love how they are turning out so far, but I have my doubts that they will fit me. Patterns tend to be made for "the average size woman's hand/head/whatever" or "one size fits most." Apparently I am a giant and not average sized at all. Well, we'll see what happens with these. I'm not going to frog them because they look absolutely fantastic, but they may end up being gifted to someone super special. I don't know who yet.
Of course, I finished Chris's mitts...
...which he has stated are absolutely perfect.I'm still working on my mom's scarf. I can see the end in sight and I am glad because, honestly, I am kind of sick of working on it.
I wanted to whip up one of these...

...but, believe it or not, even with my packed full needle case, I don't have size 13 DPNs. Maybe that's a good thing since I am trying to take a break and all. :)
Oh yeah. Today's Christmas. :) A scrumptious pot roast dinner is simmering in our new 5 quart crock pot as I type. We've also got the fixings for some home made chunky guacamole at the ready. And in a few minutes I am going to start a batch of spiced cider in our now baby sized 2 quart crock pot.
It's been snowing for a while today, so I don't foresee us leaving the house anytime soon.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
