Poor poor Binky

The vet said Binky was a bit twitchy when the Valium started to wear off and he started to wake up more. She was worried about leaving him there overnight because everyone goes home at 7 and the first person doesn't show up until 7am. They said we could transfer him to an emergency clinic for the night. I asked if we could just take him home for the night and keep an eye on him and then bring him back first thing in the morning. She agreed this was a satisfactory option.

When we got there he had had another seizure just before our arrival. The doc said it may have been the over stimulation of getting him ready to go. Regardless, they gave him another dose of Valium for the trip home and then gave me a couple to take with in case anything happens. Worst case scenario, if he has another bad seizure tonight and the 2 doses don't help then we'll take him to the emergency clinic over in Lynnwood.

We made a little pile of blankets for him on the floor in the living room and he has pretty much not moved since we put him there. The doc said the least stimulation the better, so we have just been quietly hanging out. Mostly, I've just been staring at him and trying to make time itself move faster.

Bloodwork didn't really show any causes for his seizures, such as low blood sugar or acute renal failure. At the same time the vet didn't want to completely dismiss the idea that he ingested something toxic. So there is more waiting ahead. And then...well I can only focus on tonight right now.
