I have had this conversation/argument with myself about a billion times. I just need to be more disciplined.
I finally started on the Boteh scarf. I bought some yarn at the end of summer and just never got around to it. (I think the idea of baby projects distracted me.) Turns out, the original yarn I bought for this project is lame. It's kinda dark with hints of different color throughout. Seems like an awesome idea, but when put into action it just looks like a matte black yarn unless it's under super bright light. Poo. So I'm trying it with some silver Glitterspun yarn I bought for no reason. Not sure this one will work either, because so far it doesn't seem to be "drapey" enough to hang right. And the yarn is a touch itchy as well. I'm going to keep going for a bit, just to see what I think. If it doesn't work, I know exactly the yarn I want to use. I've been eyeing some super cute yarn at VY& T, but wasn't sure what I wanted it for so I didn't buy it. It's soft with touches of sparkle in it. I think it would be perfect for this scarf. Even if this silver yarn works out, I'll most likely make another one in that yarn anyways. Just what I need, right? A reason to buy more yarn. :)
